If you had 2 weeks to spend in Peru, where would you spend it?  Any recommendations on what the best trekking company to Machu Pichu is, and also where to stay, what not to miss, etc...   Thanks! Smiley

I've never been, but Peru is someplace I've always wanted to visit.  I suppose if I was going for two weeks, I'd want to travel around the country as much as I could - one cool thing about Peru is that the geographic regions are so varied (from the Andes mountains, to Amazon jungle, to the coast).

I'd be really interested in learning more about modern Incan culture (in addition to visiting Macchu Pichu, which I suppose is mandatory  Smiley).  And where ever I go, I'm always into finding the local market and enjoying the local cuisine.  I'd even like to try a fried guinea pig - which is kind of weird since I had one as a pet when I was little.

Im travelling to Peru in July, and staying there for 5 weeks. Our itinery is not set in stone and was wondering if anyone who had been there in the past had any advice on must-see sites or good trails?
